Sixt Poland Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2010 and 31-Dec-2012
General Rental InformationThe renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving licence.
Drivers also need an international driver's licence, if he doesn't come of one of the following countries:

Special rental information by booking of Prepaid rates
Changing booking
A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of EUR 20.00. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.
Cancellation
A booking can be cancelled before the rental begins. In the event of cancellation, the payment in advance already made towards the rental shall be paid back subject to a cancellation charge, which will be withheld and shall be in the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days.
No-show
In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.
Age Restrictions
In Poland, the following rules apply for the minimum age and possession of a driver's licence:
19 years old/1 year for vehicles in groups E***
21 years old/2 year for vehicles in groups C***, I***
25 years old/3 years for vehicles in groups S***, F***, P***, X***
By paying the Young Driver Surcharge of EUR 12.20 Young Drivers (in age of 19 or 20) can rent the following car groups: C***, I***
Conditions of Payment
Flexi Tariff
We accept all credit cards from internationally recognized credit card companies - such as American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Diners Club and JCB.
We do not accept any prepaid cards, debit cards (Visa Electron) nor the AirPlus-Card.
Cash Payment is not accepted.
For the following car groups two credit cards are requested:
FDAR, FDAX, FVMR, PDAR, PDAX, XDAR and XDAX.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination with a valid credit card.
Prepaid Tariff
The following credit cards are accepted: Eurocard/Mastercard, AmericanExpress Card, VISA Card, Diners Club, JCB. We do not accept any prepaid cards, debit cards (Visa Electron) nor the AirPlus-Card.
The renter must be the owner of the indicated creditcard. Theauthorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
By booking of a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the start of rental, directly with the estimated total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of rental as well as all additional extra fees.
The rental charge (plus any other charges agreed such as, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport charges etc.) plus value added tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter of principle, be paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.
Generally
An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.
By booking the vehicle with delivery service the credit card will be charged in case the booking has not been cancelled or the customer did not show up. The amount that will be charged comprises the price of the rental for one day and the cost of fuel.
General Insurance Conditions
Third Party Insurance (TI)
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of 3,000,000.- EUR for personal injuries and 600,000.- EUR for material damages.
Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Collision Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage.
Exceptions of the limitation of the responsibility:
a) Damages of wheels, windows, outside mirrors, wipers, car interior and chassis.
b) Dirty parts of the car requiring special cleaning by removing the external layer of varnish (eg. through drops of asphalt).
If CDW is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full value of the car.
If CDW is accepted, the customer is only responsible for the following amounts:

Top Cover CDW
If CDW is already included in the rates, the renter can choose Top Cover CDW to reduce/eliminate the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.
Exceptions of the limitation of the responsibility:

Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
By taking out personal accident insurance coverage can also be extended to cover the consequences of an accident.
Tire and Glass Coverage (GT)
Tire and Glass Coverage provides cover against the consequences of damages on tires and windscreen.
If GT is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of damages on tires and windscreen.
If GT is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts: EUR 0.-.
Delivery & Collection
During Opening Hours
Within city limits a Delivery/Collection Service charge of EUR 18.30 applies. Outside city limits EUR 0.61 per km will be charged.
Out of Opening Hours
Delivery/Collection Service is on request. Please contact the local rental station.
An out of opening hours charge for Delivery/Collection Service may apply.
Out Of Hours
A surcharge of EUR 36.90 applies for all bookings/rentals out of hours.
One-Way Rentals
National
One-Way Rentals within Sixt locations in Poland are free of charge.
International
Please contact your Sixt local rental station.
Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
Cross Border Rentals are allowed to the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.
Premium Location Fee
A Premium Location Fee of 12% on the non-reduced basis rental rate (T&M) occurs for rentals at airport and train stations.

For rentals between 1st November and 31st March winter tyres are added as a compulsory extra.
Additional Driver
An Additional Driver Surcharge of EUR 6.15 per day, max. EUR 61.50 per rental applies.
Refuelling Charge
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to Sixt, otherwise our current refuelling charges will apply.
Alternatively, you may purchase a tankful of fuel at the time of rental at a price that is competitive with local fuel stations and return the tank empty. No refunds will be given for unused fuel. All rates are inclusive of VAT (if VAT incurs).

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
